1. Introduction and Purpose

These Community Guidelines and Code of Conduct (“Guidelines”) form part of the broader Terms of Use and Service Agreements governing your use of the LocalDesi Platform (“Platform”), operated by LocalDesi Australia (“LocalDesi”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these Guidelines. These provisions apply to all users, including but not limited to:

  • End customers
  • Vendors
  • Service providers (including drivers, tutors, tiffin providers, cooks, cleaners, etc.)

These Guidelines are designed to promote a safe, lawful, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of the LocalDesi community.

2. Respectful Conduct

  • Users must:
  • Treat all individuals interacting through the Platform with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
  • Refrain from discriminatory, abusive, harassing, or threatening behavior, including but not limited to racism, hate speech, bullying, or sexual harassment.
  • Respect the cultural, religious, and regional diversity of LocalDesi’s user base.

3. Accurate Representation and Honest Dealings

All vendors and service providers must:

Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their goods, services, pricing, availability, and credentials.

Refrain from misrepresentation, fraud, or deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Honour bookings made through the Platform and fulfill agreed services in a timely and professional manner.

4. Safe and Lawful Activity

You agree not to:

  • Request, provide, or facilitate services that are unlawful, unsafe, or beyond the scope of what is reasonably expected from the Platform.
  • Engage in any activity that may endanger another party or violate local laws, regulations, or health codes.
  • Permit service providers to enter unsafe or hazardous environments.

Service providers retain the right to decline or cancel services they deem unsafe or inappropriate.

5. Cleanliness and Hygiene Standards

Parties engaging in food, domestic, or in-home services must:

  • Maintain hygienic conditions in accordance with applicable public health guidelines.
  • Ensure services are delivered in sanitary and respectful conditions.

 

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Users must:

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other users, including not disclosing, misusing, or collecting personal data without consent.
  • Use any contact details or personal information provided strictly for the purpose of fulfilling transactions under the Platform.
  • Adhere to all data handling obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and LocalDesi’s Privacy Policy.

7. Platform Use and Integrity

You must not:

  • Engage in unauthorised access, system interference, fraud, or technical manipulation of the Platform.
  • Post or transmit content that is false, misleading, harmful, defamatory, or infringing.
  • Attempt to solicit transactions outside the Platform in a manner that undermines platform integrity or evades platform fees.

8. Prohibited Conduct and Content

Users are prohibited from posting, transmitting, or engaging in conduct that involves:

  • Illegal or fraudulent activity
  • Hate speech, harassment, or incitement to violence
  • Pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit content
  • Religious defamation or cultural mockery
  • Political or extremist content unrelated to the Platform’s purpose
  • Promotion of alcohol, tobacco, or regulated substances (unless expressly permitted)

9. Enforcement and Remedies

Violations of these Guidelines may result in:

  • Temporary or permanent suspension of accounts
  • Removal or rejection of listings, content, or bookings
  • Referral to legal authorities where applicable
  • Contract termination, denial of access, or financial penalties in accordance with other governing policies

LocalDesi reserves the right to take enforcement action at its sole discretion.

10. Reporting Misconduct

Users may report inappropriate conduct or content by contacting: [email protected] or using the in-app feature. All reports will be reviewed in accordance with LocalDesi’s compliance and moderation procedures.

11. Governing Law

 

These Guidelines are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
